Lighting as Part of Farm Technology: RadiyLED at the Pig Farming Forum
05.05.2026In early 2026, RadiyLED supplied modern luminaires to the pig farm of «Ranok M» LLC (Rivne village, Novoukrainskyi district, Kirovohrad region).
Agro MS 3 lights have been installed on the farm – specialized solutions for livestock farming, specifically pig houses and cattle farming. They are designed to withstand extreme conditions such as high humidity, high ammonia levels, and regular chemical disinfection. None of these factors affect their stability or durability.

Safe Voltage in Line with DSTU EN 60598-1 Standard
It is important to note that the luminaires are powered by a 120 VDC power supply, which is considered a safe voltage – low enough to prevent dangerous electric shock under normal operating conditions (in accordance with the DSTU EN 60598-1 standard). Compliance with this standard allows for a lower hazard class, reduces the amount of required personal protective equipment, and ensures personnel safety in the event of accidental contact with live parts.
The use of safe voltage is mandatory in high-risk areas: damp rooms and confined spaces, such as pig farms.
The luminaires provide uniform, shadow-free illumination at the animals’ eye level, which is crucial for their natural growth and for reducing stress. Light is the primary factor influencing weight gain.

Key Lighting Requirements for Pig Farms Include:
- Resistance to harsh environments (ammonia, moisture, disinfectants);
- Uniform light distribution without harsh shadows;
- Optimal lighting intensity for each animal housing area;
- Energy efficiency and continuous 24/7 operation (as needed, in line with cultivation schedules);
- Safety for animals and personnel;
- Long service life and minimal maintenance costs.
Modern lighting technical solutions are becoming an integral part of efficient livestock farming, affecting not only animal welfare but also herd productivity and health.
